The Knights were able to strike first, but were unable to put up any runs after and fell to the Boca Raton Blazers by a score of 4–1. The Knights have now lost two straight and now hold a record of 12–14, while the Blazers are now 7–19 after Thursday’s victory.

Most of the scoring action came at the start of the game, as both teams combined for four runs in the first out of the five scored for the entire ballgame.

West Palm Beach was able to score from an error made by the Blazers, as Bryce Courson threw a wild pitch with Andrew Eppinger at bat, and allowed Drew Winters to make it home to give the Knights a 1–0 lead.

Boca Raton responded in a huge way with three runs in the bottom first. Runners were in scoring position after a double from Jack Clarke put Christopher Basille on third base, and an RBI double from Cayden Shaver was able to bring home Clarke and Basille to take the lead from the Knights. The Blazers would then benefit from a wild pitch from Bryson Walker as Shaver would score to make the lead 3–1 going into the second.

West Palm Beach would struggle at the plate the remainder of the game, with two hits coming from Tyler Cox and Danny Baez being the only plate appearances for the Knights other than four walks.

The Blazers would go on to score in the sixth inning for the final run of the game, coming from Chris McKenna with an RBI single as Shaver went across home plate for the second time.

West Palm Beach was only able to make it to scoring position once after the sixth inning with a double from Danny Baez in the top of the seventh, but nothing else materialized for West Palm Beach to get back into it.

Pitching:

Bryson Walker was given his first loss, as he threw four strikeouts but gave up four earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched. Bryce Courson was able to get his first win of the season, pitching in four innings throwing four strikeouts and allowing only one run and hit. Darius Robinson rewarded with the save for Boca Raton.

Up Next:

The Knights will return home to face the Pompano Beach Clippers (17–14) on Friday. Both teams are even for the series at one apiece, with the most recent game resulting in a 8–5 victory for the Clippers on June 17. The game is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
